If you are moving beyond ready-made wholesale, you will meet two acronyms: OEM and ODM. Both let you create branded product, but they start from very different places.

OEM: you design, we build

With OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), you provide the design, usually a tech-pack with measurements, fabrics and construction details, and the factory manufactures it. You own the design and control every detail.

ODM: start from our library

With ODM (Original Design Manufacturer), you start from the manufacturer's existing designs and customise them, fabric, colour, details and labels. It is faster and cheaper to develop than OEM, with less design work on your side.

  • Choose OEM when you have a clear, unique design vision and a tech-pack.
  • Choose ODM to launch faster using proven, adaptable designs.
  • A good partner supports both, and helps you move from ODM to OEM over time.

Getting it right

Whichever route you choose, clear specifications and approved samples are essential. The best manufacturers guide you through development, sampling and scaling so the final product matches your intent.
