The terms private label and white label are often used interchangeably, but for a modest wear brand the distinction affects your differentiation, margins and speed to market. Here is how to decide.

White label: shared designs, your logo

White label products are generic designs sold to multiple brands, each adding their own label. It is the fastest and cheapest way to stock a shelf, but several competitors may sell the very same abaya or hijab under different names.

Private label: made to your specification

Private label means the manufacturer produces to your specifications, your fabrics, colours, measurements, labels and packaging. You get exclusivity and a consistent brand identity, usually with a moderate minimum order quantity.

  • Choose white label to test demand quickly with minimal cost.
  • Choose private label for exclusivity and a coherent brand.
  • Many brands start white label, then move to private label as they grow.

The Grosh approach

As a manufacturer, we support both models, a wholesale-ready catalogue for fast launches, and full private-label production with your labels and packaging when you are ready to own your look.
